Up to date, at last.
I enjoy designing rocky mountainous landscapes. I live in a country which has an abundance of mountains, and I am pre-empting a planned return journey to another such country: Norway.
The rugged structures, the contrasting colours and textures enable the painting and drawing techniques I most enjoy. Multiple layers, textures, lines, patterns. Applying the layers with painting knives, large and fine brushes, scratching, applying, removing, re-applying, scraping. All done with energy, and both heavy and lightness of touch.
This also helps to inform my main abstracted works using interlocking squares and rectangles which take the mountainous landscapes, cliffs, boulders and their surroundings and their interactions, their connecting and supporting edges and boundaries. Simplifying this into a format that I enjoy producing more than any other and therefore the most relevant to the person that is me.
